Who we are
Holiday Institute (HI) is a knowledge institution that advocates excellence in governance and economics to build sustainable organizations and communities. Holiday Institute is named after its founder, economist drs. Eugene B. Holiday. HI was launched in 2024 and is based in Sint Maarten.
Holiday’s guiding principle in founding the institute is based on his belief in the power of education to create knowledge and prepare individuals to solve problems and create opportunities. People and organizations around the world face multifaceted challenges, ranging from economic volatility to digital transformation including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, energy transition, and climate change. Some of these challenges, namely energy transition and digital transformation, also offer opportunities. To address these challenges and potential opportunities effectively it is critical that individuals and organizations are well informed and prepared. To help navigate these complex issues HI's mission is to serve as a knowledge hub for information, learning, and advice by advocating excellence in governance and economics aimed at empowering and creating value for individuals and organizations for the improvement of lives. Accordingly, HI's business motto is “Sharing Knowledge, Building Capacity”. HI provides information, training and advisory services in the areas of governance and economics to professionals and organizations in the public and private sectors.

Meet the founder
Drs. Eugene B. Holiday is an economist, executive, and author with extensive corporate and public sector experience. With a distinguished career spanning over 35 years in various advisory, supervisory board, and executive leadership functions, he has a unique set of expertise in policy analysis and development, economic and financial management, capacity building, strategic planning, and corporate and public governance.
